EverQuest: Macintosh Edition, often shortened as EQMac, is a port of the original PC EverQuest. (The snapshot of the PC client was taken in October of 2002.) Released on June 23, 2003, EQMac includes all of the PC expansions up to Planes of Power. Other than a few bug-fixing patches, the game has been left untouched since its release and there are still a number of major bugs that afflict the server. Starting in 2005, Sony began giving the game away for free in the form of 15-day trials, which was later extended to 30 days. Once the trial has elapsed, players are subject to a regular $12 fee per month.

While the game was originally programmed with the functionality to connect to multiple servers, the only server that has ever been in operation is called Al'Kabor. In general, "Al'Kabor" is usually synonymous with EQMac.

This purpose of this wiki is to provide information about the game; see The EQMac Wiki:About.
