[edit] Welcome to Vintage!

Vintage is progression guild on the server comprised of adventurers in the Velious expansion era. We're currently recruiting players of all levels who are interested in reliving the nostalgic days before PoK and KEI, and dragon raids and Trakanon raids were done at the level and with the gear that it was originally designed for. Our guild plans on experiencing the original EQ game and continue one expansion at a time to the Planes of Power in the order it was originally progressed.

Vintage was founded by a group of gamers and friends who have played EverQuest together since 1999, and various other MMO’s together since. We have come together on The Al’Kabor server to once again, rekindle the fun and the memories EQ brought to us in the last few years.

Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings are our primary raiding nights, while we may not have a raid every Wed. or Saturday, we would like to schedule these nights as high attendance nights so we can group to xp, quest or raid content when there are enough of us online. If a particular mob or content is scheduled, it will most likely fall on one of our primary raiding nights.

[edit] Some Progression FAQ's…

What makes a Progression guild different from other guilds on the server?

A progression guild is composed of members who want to experience the game of Everquest as it was original designed 10 years ago. Several expansions have been released since the original launch introducing many zones, items and quests which make the older expansions obsolete or abandoned. The niche of our guild is to build a community that is dedicated to playing within the scope of the original (pre-expansions) game or as close to it as possible, and open each expansion to ourselves in a progressive manner. We do this by avoiding any items and zones that are from future expansions until they are unlocked.

Why should I join this guild if I am new to EQ?

New players, especially, will like this concept because they will get to fully experience each expansion in the order it was released instead of skipping content because it is all meshed into one game. For example, the original game’s level cap is 50, whereas the server’s level cap is 65. All of our members in classic era maxed out at 50 to continue raiding at the difficulty level the zones and mobs were originally designed for. We are currently capping ourselves at level 60 with no AA's to tackle the Velious raid content as it was originally designed. You could come back and do the content we are doing now at level 65 and Planes of Power gear, but what’s the point?

How and when will it be determined that the next expansion is unlocked?

Our goals as a guild should be attempted enough times until the majority of the guild feels satisfied with the vintage experiences and nostalgia. The majority of the guild should be geared, experienced, and knowledgeable of the era enough to enter the new expansion and hit the ground running. In short, it will be discussed weeks ahead of time and voted by the members of the guild.

Am I restricted on the race/class combination I choose for my new character?

No, you can be any race/class combination that is available at character creation. Although we are limiting our scope to the Original EQ world era, we do not have any rules against creating Iksar, Vah Shir’s or Beastlords.

[edit] Rules for the Vintage Progression Experience…

Members of <Vintage> must abide by the following progression rules. We won’t be policing every piece of gear worn or spell used, however, we will notice if you are using any thing that is not allowed during guild raids, and you will be warned to remove and stop using the item or spell. Repeat offenders may receive a guildremove at the officers discretion. Ruining progression for yourself is one thing, ruining it for others is not tolerated.

1. Vintage is currently in the Velious expansion and members cannot travel to any zones outside of the Antonica, Odus, Faydwer, Kunark and Velious continents. This rule also implies that you CANNOT use the POK book to travel.

2. Any items or spells that are sold naturally by NPCs in any old world, Kunark or Velious zone is allowed to be used. Any vendor-sold items or gifts from other players from a future expansion we have not opened to the guild yet should be banked for use in the future.

3. Twinking and Powerleveling is allowed. If you wish to expedite your leveling experience, that is your personal agenda, as long as the zones, gear and spells that are used are all era-relevant (powerleveling was done in the original EQ as well).

4. /anon and /role modes are not allowed.

Please read the Charter and Rules page for more information about our guild.
